This project reimagines a traditional townhouse in the historic village of Balzan, thoughtfully adapted for contemporary living while honoring its original character. The design draws inspiration from the building’s existing architecture-particularly its iconic limestone arches-which inform a new vocabulary of curves and circular forms. These elements are reinterpreted throughout both the extensions and interior spaces, creating a seamless continuity between old and new.

Natural materials, warm wood tones, and green accents bring a sense of comfort and balance, while storage and essential services are discreetly integrated to maintain spatial clarity and calm. Against the soft limestone palette, bold color moments and carefully crafted details introduce contrast and personality, adding a subtle layer of playfulness without detracting from the overall harmony.

The result is a composed and sensitive transformation-an interior that is both rooted in its historical context and confidently contemporary. It balances openness with intimacy, restraint with expression, offering a home that is refined yet full of character.
